I think im breathing carbon monoxide?

im sitting in my room trying to go to sleep and all the sudden i realize the air im breathing feels cold in the back of my throat and i feel short of breath. So i was trying to think of things that could cause this and the thought of a carbon monoxide leak crossed my mind, so 30 minutes later here i am worried sick that im about to p out and die from carbon monoxide poisoning, but im not really sure and I dont want to go wake up my dad and step mom if it turns out im wrong please give me a quick awnser. not sure what to do.
