What makes the bible seem true?

Your right about the what the scientific evidence says about the earth beginning and evolution. From my understanding the Vatican does not take a stand on these scientific issues, as they are not a matter of faith. Adam and Eve however I believe are still a matter of Faith, as they are the first humans created by God. I am not sure if that is literal or symbolic. I think the Catholic church means it to be literal.
